AI Agents, Art & Taste: Future Art-Tech Production in Practice. An Art&Tech sharing session with speaker Roxanne Jingxuan Zhao, Founder of Turbulence Creative, followed by an AI Food Art tasting experience by Deep Food x Joseph Wan and the Board of Dinner team.
The event takes place alongside the Sun Xiaolan Solo Exhibition curated by Ziyan Xu.

The edible experience is part of a crea-tech experiment exploring how Explainable AI can foster empathy. Deep Food / Joseph Wan are turning their XAI for Empathy project into an edible experience (a happy hour occasion with creative drinks and light, AI-prompted food).
The Board of Dinner concept features AI agents role-playing a "board of directors" made up of classic fairy tale characters representing various personalities. Together, the AI agents simulated how different personalities behave and collaborated to generate unique recipes and meeting minutes. The project generated 400+ meeting simulations where each personality role-played extensively unfold each of their behaviours and team-work dynamics.
This time we invite participants to join us as our "shareholders" to taste the AI boardroom outcomes. The experience this time features an interactive AI interface for everyone to get paired up and lightly co-work with a fairy-tale character similar to their personality, and then the AI agent role-playing that character will generate an edible response, including personalised recipe plus plating, using a variety of food elements we will prepare. Deep Food will host a food assembly open bar (technically a table for us to assemble the food) where each dish will be uniquely assembled and served. People will mingle in the room sharing their unique dish as a conversation starter while also taste the insights about the personality from AI simulation in edible ways.
Experience flow: 1. Participants come to interact with the 'Board of Dinner' interface made for the edible experience (likely computer or iPads), according to their input, the system will analyse their personality and suggest a 'Board member' to co-work with. The interaction will lead to a light food that the Deep Food team will prepare for. 2. Participants come to the bar area to watch the dish being assembled and collect their personalised food outcome. 3. Whilst waiting to make their order, a self-served drink area will be available, the drink will also be one of the recipes transforming insights from AI simulation of fairy tale characters, so people have the thematic drink to start with any conversation as they wait for the food component. 4. People will mingle in free-flow in the room (likely walking around, not seating, so they get to discuss and network). Tasting the food and the drink will allow participants to experience the insight about the notion of 'XAI for Empathy' by taste and sensory experience, we encourage participants to reflect by senses and discuss anything tech-related that the sensory experience inspires them to. 5. The project team will provide immersive elements as much as possible, like AI-generated theme music and data-visualisation projection to contribute to the atmosphere of the experience.
Artist / Experience Intro: Cindy Chan and the Deep Food team work across edible experience, performance and interactive installation, using food as a medium for public engagement, cultural storytelling and multisensory design. Deep Food's projects have been commissioned or presented through cultural and design platforms including M+ Museum Rover, Oi! art space, Hong Kong Arts Centre, deTour, London Design Festival and Dutch Design Week.
Their project Board of Dinner grows from Deep Food's XAI for Empathy research: an AI-agent-empowered food experience where a multi-agent AI boardroom of fairy-tale characters generates personality dynamics, recipes and edible responses. The work has been reported by design and trend platforms including Dezeen, STIR and LSN Global.
