Unnamed Shapes — Dirk Tsai & Yang Wan Dual Solo Exhibition
Solo and Dual Exhibitions
22 November – 12 December 2025
From Taipei to London, from Beijing to Boston, Dirk Tsai and Yang Wan, carrying memories of the East, honed their own languages through their respective experiences studying abroad. The shapes flowing into each other's canvases seem to possess a concrete form, yet remain free.
They are both escapees and debunkers. One allows the canvas to reject the wall, because the wall itself is a metaphor for power; the other allows the beginning and the end to coincide, because linear narratives have always served only the history of the conquerors. They question all established order, allowing these wild and untamed dreams to narrate gender, identity, art, love, and history. These unnamed shapes are a gentle counterattack against all the violence of naming.
